1.1 背景介绍
🐙“Aw, you guys! You made me ink!”
🐟这句话是那只叫Pearl的粉红小章鱼说的，还记得我们之前讲过章鱼的应激反应是喷射像墨水一样的东西吗？这里就是Pearl在受到惊吓以后，喷出了墨水，所以她说You made me ink!

1.2熟词生义
🐙1.「pretty」在文中作副词，相当于very，表示“很，非常”。
🐟原句：Hey, you’re doing pretty well for your first time.

🐟这个句子的意思是：“在一朵银莲…银莲花…”Nemo尽自己最大努力地讲出这个单词
🐙2.“Just so you know,” Marlin added quietly, “he’s got a little fin. If he’s having trouble swimming, I let him take a break for a few minutes—”

🐟「having trouble swimming」，have trouble doing sth.意思是“做某事有困难”，所以这里是Marlin担心Nemo游泳会有困难；

🐟「 had a hard time when…」这个结构意思是“……的时候是一段很难熬的时光”；
🐟「 my oldest」指的是Tad爸爸的长子或者长女。这部分是Tad的爸爸在宽慰Marlin，说自己送第一个孩子去the Drop-off上学的时候，也是担心害怕，很难熬呢~
🐟「 cook them up」, 这里就是字面义，“把它们煮了”
🐟「serve them with chips」，serve…with指的是“和……一起上菜”。所以这部分是Marlin说“我们干嘛不干脆把它们煮了，再配上薯条端上桌？”。明显Marlin这里是在用讽刺手法表达自己的愤怒，因为他觉得The Drop-off非常危险，去那里上课还不如直接被人煮了吃了。
🐟「 without another thought」字面意思是“想都没想”，用来说明做某事很迅速，不经思考。
🐟全句大意：Tad的爸爸说“对啊~当年我送第一个孩子去the Drop-off的时候，也是经历了一段难熬的时光呢~” Marlin一听就炸了，大喊着：“The Drop-off？？那干嘛不干脆把它们煮了，再配上薯条端上桌？”，说完想也没想，就立马冲去追Nemo了。
🐙5. But once he realized where he was, he stopped. He was at the edge of the reef. The ocean spread out before him. It was so big, so wide, and so blue—it was like nothing he’d ever seen.
🐟「once」在这里相当于when，或者as soon as，表示“一……就……”，所以这里是说：当Nemo一意识到他自己所在的位置，就立马停住了。我们再看一个once的例子：The guests were gone once we were in. （我们一进去，客人就都走了。）
🐟「at the edge of」，指“在……的边缘”；
🐟「spread out」，意思是“铺展开来，延伸开来”；
🐟「like nothing he’d ever seen」，这里的he’d ever seen作用是修饰前面的nothing，意思是“跟之前他见过的东西都不像”。这里是说Nemo第一次见到了开阔的海洋，这和他之前见的东西都不一样。
🐟全句大意：但是当他（Nemo）一意识到自己所处的位置，就立刻停住了。他正位于礁石的边缘。他的面前，是延伸开来的大海。大海是如此的辽阔、湛蓝，跟他之前见过的东西都不一样。
🐙6. “Sandy Plankton saw one. He said it was called a butt.” “Wow!” said Pearl. “That’s a pretty big butt.”
🐟「it was called a butt」，be called意思是“被叫做……，被称为……”，butt的意思是“屁股”。这里是一个小小的搞笑情节，大家都知道船的英文是boat，但是这群小鱼听岔了，听成了butt，于是这一段对话就变成了一个笑料。
🐟全句大意：“Sandy Plankton看见过这东西，他说这东西叫屁股。” Pearl感叹到“哇哦！真是个很大的屁股啊！”
🐙7. He sneezed, and the force of his sneeze moved him a bit closer to the boat.“Aaah!” Sheldon shouted. He raced back to his friends.
🐟「the force of his sneeze」，指“打喷嚏的力量”；
🐟「a bit closer to」，指“离……更近了一些”；
🐟「raced back to」，指“赶快跑回到……”。
🐟全句大意：Sheldon打了个喷嚏，喷嚏的反作用力让他离船近了一些。他马上“啊”地大叫一声，然后立马跑回到自己朋友身边。
🐙8. Pearl jumped out, just a little past where Sheldon had been. Then she hurried back. “Beat that!”
🐟「past」在这里指“超过”；
🐟「where Sheldon had been」意思是“Sheldon之前所在的位置”；
🐟「Beat that!」字面意思为“战胜了（之前）那个！”，其实也就是“我赢了”的意思。
🐟全句大意：Pearl跳出去，只超过了刚刚Sheldon的位置一点点，她就马上跑回来说：“我赢了！”。
🐙9. “You were about to swim into open water!” “No,” Nemo said. “I wasn’t going to go out—” “It’s just a good thing I was here,” Marlin stopped him. “If I hadn’t shown up—”
🐟「were about to」和「wasn’t going to」都是用的过去时，因为这里父子俩谈论的是刚刚差点发生的事。
🐟「It’s just a good thing…」这个结构相当于我们说“幸好……”；
🐟「show up」意思是“出现”。
🐟全句大意：（Marlin很紧张地吼Nemo：）“你刚刚都准备要游到开阔水域去了！”，Nemo辩解道“没有！我没打算出去……”，但马上被Marlin打断，他继续说“幸好我来了，如果我不出现……”。
🐙10. “No, it’s not okay. You shouldn’t be anywhere near here,” Marlin said.“I was right. You know what? We’ll start school in a year or two.”
🐟「shouldn’t be anywhere near here」，anywhere near here意思是“这附近的任何地方”，所以Marlin是说Nemo不应该来这里；
🐟「in a year or two」在这里表示“一两年后”，因为in引导的时间短语，出现在将来时的句子里面，就表示“……之后”，比如：I will see her in two days.（两天后我就会见到她。）
🐙11.“Clearly you’re not ready, and you’re not coming back here till you are,” Marlin said.
🐟「clearly」在这里是“（情况）很明显，很清楚”的意思，「not…till」意为“直到…才”，原句省略了「till you are（ready）」中的ready。e.g. My mom won’t come back home till she finishes her work.（我的妈妈直到下班才会回家。）
🐟这句话的意思是：很明显你还没有准备好，并且直到你做好准备你才会回来（coming back）。
🐟这是Nemo爸爸对Nemo的劝诫，他认为Nemo现在还不能够自己游出海面。
