1.1 背景介绍
1⃣️hyper-jump
✨这是科幻小说当中的一种概念，有时也叫jump drive，指的是以一种比光速还快的速度运动，可以让宇宙飞船在两点之间瞬移。所以这种运动可以让宇宙飞船迅速到达好几光年以外的地方。
2⃣️car jack
✨这里jack不是人名，而是指我们用来顶起重物的“千斤顶”，一般车里都会常备，因为换轮胎的时候需要它。
1.2熟词生义
1⃣️「shape」在文中指“身体状况”，而不仅仅是指“形状”。

5⃣️ On the broken highway bridge where his owner had left him, WALL•E’s lonely cockroach was still patiently waiting for him.
✨「where his owner had left him」是where引导的一个定语从句，修饰highway bridge，这里的him和his指的都是cockroach，所以这里是说“在那座坏掉的高架桥上，也就是他主人离开时留下他的地方”；
✨「patiently waiting for him」，patiently指“耐心地”，wait for sb.，指“等待某人”。
✨全句大意：在那座坏掉的高架桥上，也就是主人离开时留下他的地方，WALL•E的那只孤单的蟑螂还在耐心地等着他。
6⃣️ A dark shape was growing and the sun was slowly disappearing behind it. Slowly, the huge base of the Axiom broke through the clouds, throwing the entire land below into darkness.
✨「the huge base of」，base指“基座、底座”，这里指的是Axiom的底部；
✨「broke through」，broke是break的过去式，break through意思是“冲破、突破”；

✨「The sooner…, the sooner…」这个结构表示“越快……，就能越快……”，所以这里是说EVE越快拿到WALL•E的备用零件，她就能越快地修好他。
